Happy New Year!! I gift you with prayer as you start your new year.
Our God and our loving Heavenly Father, how excellent is Your name throughout the earth. Lord You are good and Your mercies endureth forever. Lord I approach Your throne with great humility as I acknowledge You as the one true living God. You are worthy of all the praise, the glory and the honor. We your people have sinned against you many times and in many ways. Your word says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). As I intercede on behalf of Your people, I confess the sins committed knowingly and unknowingly. I ask that You forgive us and cleanse us from all our sins and unrighteousness.
Lord, we have made it through 2017 like all other years, because of Your grace and mercy, thank You. Thank You for this precious gift of life that You have loaned us and for Your continued protection. It is not because of any good that we have done, we are only here because of You. Thank You for the trials, triumphs, sorrows and joys we faced and the lessons that came along with them.
As we have entered a new year, please grant us Your guidance and protection over us. May we not only remember You at the beginning of this year to “start the year off right” but instead, make You the focus of our lives throughout 2018 and the years to come. I pray that we will stand on Your promises for our lives and walk into the purpose for which You have created us. Father help us to truly find our identifies in You through a closer relationship with you and more time in Your word.
Lord, we don’t know what this year will bring but may we, like Jehoshaphat be able to truly say “We don’t know what to do, but our eyes are upon You” (2 Chronicles 20:12). Our plans and goals that have been set can never be better than your plans (Jeremiah 29:11) for our lives and so I pray that Your will be done in and through our lives. I pray that Your plans will prevail over all other plans in this year and the others to come.
Thank you for all You’ve done in the past and all you will do in this New Year. Thank You for hearing and answering, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
